What is Wrong With People?

I just got an email from the mother of one of Jacob's classmates, I shall paste it here for you:

"Hey everybody, I have talked to some of you but would like to know just how many are coming to the party Saturday. Can you just shoot me and e-mail and let me know how many you will bring. Thanks so much. I need to know how much pizza and stuff to get.

K*****"

Hmmm. I don't recall receiving an invitation to any party on Saturday. Nope. Definitely no invitation.

Gee lady, if you're not going to invite everyone on the class list to the party, you might want to be sure to delete them from your mass email list as well before you send out such a letter.

So, yeah, that kinda pissed me off and I immediately shot this back without thinking about it too much:

"I don't believe we received an invitation to the party, but I just wanted to let you know that we wouldn't be there. I know how frustrating it is when people don't RSVP. I hope you all have a wonderful time without us."

Gee. I just can't WAIT for school to start again.

I'm sorry Andria. But seriously, you really should think about leaving that school. The parents there don't sound very "Christian" to me.

But I have a good one for you. This frenemy of mine sent out an email announcing how her son's b-day party was going to be at The Planetarium" this year and to look for an invite soon.
We never got an invite but all of my sons friends did. I knew that was going to happen though because she was super pissed that her child wasn't invited to my son's party last year (because my son did not want him there because 3 years in a row, the kid tried to blow out his candles for him and it pissed him off and four years straight, the kid started a fist fight with other guests). Unfortunately, she read abut the party last year on my blog. She sent me a three page long email last year telling me what a horrible person I was for not inviting her kid. But here's the kicker, her kid had his b-day a month before my kid and my kid wasn't invited to his party (yippee!). She went bat shit crazy about my kid's party though. Weird, eh?
Ummm...hmmm.
So this is her payback. Whatevs. My kid didn't care, we can take him to the planetarium on our own any time we want to.
People are weird about birthday parties.
And for what it's worth, I would invite you to my kids' parties if you lived closer.

I can not believe how catty (sp?) these women at Jacob's school are. I am still trying to peel my chin off the floor at your story and the story mentioned above. How do you ladies deal with women like this? It is unbelievable how inmature they are. You should not have to deal with that.

How massively rude! I don't know how you put up with that school. These women are plain evil. How could you be mean to a child? I just don't get that!!!

Maybe along with the new home you should send Jacob to a new school? Seems like a great idea considering what nasty people the other parents are! I mean, seriously, what is wrong with these people? I seem to remember it wasn't just the parents who were nasty but some staff at the school as well? Would you consider changing schools?

What was her response??????

You'll have to tell us if she responds. I think your reply was excellent-- she needed to know that she's a complete moron.

Any thoughts of changing schools at all?

I love your response too--let us know if she responds. On second thought, wouldn't it have been funny if you told her you were loading up all 5 of you and you couldn't wait to party with them??

The people at your son's school are unbelievable! I know my thoughts would be going along the lines of NEW SCHOOL. You have more patience then I do if you stick that garbage out for the next 15 years or so.

Hey hon. I put up that post you asked about regarding Jacob.

Sigh. Your school is so weird. Hope that next year brings easier times...

Nice. Good thing you found out about it and not your kid, that's even more heartbreaking! Some people have no class. The party probably sucked anyway. Yeah...

mass emails are usually a "massive mistake"...

You'll have to let us know if you get a response.
